About Girls of Armenia Leadership Soccer (GOALS)

By using sport for social impact, GOALS aims to equip youth with confidence and resilience to face and resolve challenges both on and off the field.

Our goal is:

  • To initiate and create a network of Soccer Leagues, After-School Clubs, and Summer Camps in different parts of Armenia and Artsakh

  • To challenge and break down existing barriers of girls playing sports

  • To build a culture of empathy, kindness, and respect

  • To shape future leaders of change

Currently, over 1000 girls participate in GOALS activities in over 80 communities across Armenia and Artsakh.

Position Responsibilities 

Our Regional Programs Team Lead will be responsible for the development and execution of all GOALS regional programming. The position reports directly to the CEO.

This individual will head a team of committed people based in offices in Yerevan and remotely regionally across Armenia and Artsakh(this includes service contractors and volunteers such as referees, nurses, and coaches).

Core Responsibilities

  • Ownership of overall GOALS programming (Leagues, Summer Camps, Events, ad-hoc activities)

  • Development of Sports for Social Impact Curriculum in-line with current realities 

  • Management of regional programming and operations (this will require regular trips to the regions of Armenia and Artsakh)

  • Program budgeting and follow-up

  • Supporting CEO in fundraising activities

  • Support in network creation and development of the organization

Organization of regional programming:

  • Ongoing development of our sports for social impact curriculum including the journey each beneficiary takes with GOALS

  • Ongoing development of our coach development and engagement program 

  • Organizing trainings, workshops, including the development of content for beneficiaries

  •  

  • Regular contact with regional staff and in some cases other members of regional teams (coaches, nurses, referees)

  • Collection of all necessary documents for each league (schedules, rosters, transportation contacts, liability forms, etc.)

  • Development of impact measurement tools and monitoring mechanism 

  • Ensuring engagement and success of regional programing (leagues, festivals, summer camps, ad-hoc events, and more)

Other Programs:

  • Organization and ownership of summer camps, National Tournaments, and other events (with a similar structure as the preparation of soccer leagues)

  • Communication and cooperation with Football Federation of Armenia for registering teams in their events, budgeting their participation

Fundraising and Sustainability:

  • Supporting CEO and the Board with materials for fundraising activities

  • Preparation of program budgets

  • Together with the CEO, meeting with potential and existing partners and donors

Volunteers and interns:

  • Support in network creation and volunteer profile definitions based on the needs of GOALS

  • Participation in recruitment and selection

  • Coordination of the day-to-day work of interns and volunteers

Social media and PR:

  • Regularly provide and generate content for communications and fundraising purposes

Experience:

  • Experience in management of large scale projects/programs

  • Experience in managing teams/individuals (remote management experience is a plus)

  • Experience in sports management is helpful 

  • Experience in working with Armenian regions is a plus

Attitude:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and excellent prioritizing skills to meet daily, time-sensitive deadlines

  • Self-motivated, with a drive to exceed expectations and enable stakeholders

  • Attention to detail, with an ability to identify issues and implement remedies

  • A strong team player, reliable and respectful

IT skills:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite (or similar software)

  • Great presentation skills

  • Online cooperation and project management tools (minimum Google Drive)

  • Basic management of e-tools based on Wix, Squarespace, or comparable content management systems is a plus

  • Knowledge of social media management, esp. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, is a merit

Language skills/other:

  • Armenian and English - fluent

  • Any other foreign language competencies are a plus

  • Experience in coaching or organizing training is a plus

  • Experience with NGO’s or Foundations that work in rural communities is a plus

  • Driver’s license is a plus, but not required
