Ambassador Heffern brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the Armenian context, having served as the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia from 2011 to 2014. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening U.S.-Armenia relations and fostering greater cooperation between the two nations.

A seasoned diplomat, Ambassador Heffern has held various positions in the U.S. Department of State, including Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Director of the Office of European Security and Political Affairs in Washington, D.C. His extensive diplomatic career has been marked by a dedication to promoting peace, stability, and positive change in regions of the world that need it most.
