During August 17th to 19th, we conducted our last summer camp of the 2018 season in Kapan with 38 girls from different points of the Syunik region.
For the second year in a row David Dikranian, renowned football coach from Connecticut (USA), visited us and led the camp. He was joined by his friend and colleague Shane Smith. Both trainers have long-term experience working with youth across different high schools from the United States. You can read more about David involvement with GOALS on this article published by The Insider.
Participants enjoyed three days full of skills training, football matches, sport for social impact games, leadership lessons and discussions. Victoria Aghabekyan, founder and president of Development Initiatives, gave an inspirational talk to the girls where she shared her experience as a youth developer in the region.
The sub-grant is implemented in the frames of Bridge4CSOs project led by AGBU in partnership with EPF and funded by the European Union.
We want to especially thank David and Shane for donating their time and sharing their professional knowledge with our participants. We are sure this was an experience they will never forget!
